Join the Huntington Beach Art Center as we delve deeper into the world of fiber art during an interactive day of hands-on activities and lectures that coincide with the artworks on display in our galleries. Hear from our talented artists as well as industry leaders on fiber art topics. Then learn how looms work from a master weaver, and create your own weaving. This special day of workshops is offered in conjunction with the current contemporary exhibition on view: Looming Spaces, the third, and final, exhibition in HBAC’s “Year of Women in the Arts” series. It explores weaving through the vision of four contemporary fiber artists whose artwork addresses contemporary, cultural, and environmental issues. Featured artists are Ashley Blalock, Dawn Ertl, Annette Heully, and Consuelo Jimenez Underwood.
