Get ready for an exciting event co-hosted by the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visit Huntington Beach. We’ve developed this speed networking event for you to meet other businesses and learn more about each other, and hopefully brainstorm some ideas on how to work together. Similar to speed dating, you’ll have a limited time to chat before you move on to the next table. You never know what kind of new ideas and opportunities you’ll discover! Read these tips to help you make the most of the event.
WHAT TO WEAR
The event will take place indoors, so business casual attire works!
WHAT TO BRING
Make sure you bring plenty of bring business cards (we estimate that you may need up to 100). You can also bring flyers or anything else to promote your business. If you’re interested in providing a raffle item, please bring it with you.
LOCATION & PARKING
Event takes place at the HB Elks Lodge, at 7711 Talbert Ave. Parking is available on-site.
FOOD & BEVERAGES
Food and beverages will be provided by Domino’s on 16486 Bolsa Chica Ave, Expertec Automotive and Visit HB.

SPEED NETWORKING TIPS

1. Have your elevator pitch ready. You’ll have less than a minute to explain the who, what, why, when, and how of your business. Make it count!
2. Set your intentions before the event. What is your purpose/goal for attending?
3. Bring plenty of business cards. You can also bring marketing materials to promote your services.
4. Focus on building relationships. It’s not just about getting contact information; you need to connect.
5. Follow up. Don’t just forget about who you met – follow up within the next few days.

HOW TO CREATE AN ELEVATOR PITCH
Your elevator pitch should be a short 30-60 second statement about who you are and what you do.

1. Include: Your name, your title, and company name.
2. Add in the value you create for your customers by describing a typical problem, what activities you used to solve it, and the actual result.
3. You can round up by including something about your goals and the results you wish to achieve from the meeting.
