Date: September 20, 2026
Time: 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM PDT
Event Description:
Huntington Beach Symphony Orchestra Concert, and director Grant Sevdayan, announce the opening concert of Season 18 with East Meets West. Sunday, Sept 20, 2026, 3:30pm, HB APA Theater (Academy of Performing Arts), 1905 Main St, HB 92648.

Join us for music reflecting the cultures of nations of France and Hungary to Armenia and Russia.  The program will feature Long Beach Ballet dancers in selections from Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition with choreographed story by artistic director David Wilcox.  Unparalleled soprano Yen Lin Chin's interpretation of Dvorak's "Song to the Moon" is not to be missed.  The first movement of Beethoven's N8 Symphony in terms of musical form is arguably one of the perfect composition ever written.  And the 5th Symphony of Shostakovich more than any other creation reflects the turbulent world we live in.
